Happy 11th Rezday! Goals and Aspirations!

Today is my 11th Rezday in SL, and I've decided that 11 is the age where you have to start making a blog about your stories! I recently came back to Second Life after a 4 year break, with new things to learn (mesh, mesh, more mesh) and more people to meet. I was really glad to still have so many people on the grid from before I left welcoming me back too!

I also set some new goals. Year 1 was to get my mesh skills up to a certain standard where I was comfortable with the quality of stuff I was making. It's not the prettiest or the best, but it gets the story across. I'm still learning new tricks every day, but consider the first goal completed.

This year, my goal is to stop working so hard and make sure people are still having fun. The culture in SL has changed so much from when I was gone, which is inevitable and just fine, but I personally noticed that events seem to be very shopping based these days. There are few events focused on socializing, games, or creativity for everyday residents. I want to focus on bringing some events back into the lighter side. Don't get me wrong, I've been in my skybox pumping out stuff the past year, I'm sure I've missed a lot of really great events that were solely for entertainment, but I want to support this!

My plan for SL is to create an environment that is immersive and that inspires conversation and creativity. I'll be having a lot of quick, casual "parties" along with some well thought out, planned events. Many of you might remember some of my events from back in the day, such as the -RC- Cluster Company BBQ, or the ThanksGIVING charity events.

These events and parties were all made possible by the fact that people came to them! I don't consider myself a huge name in SL, not as well known as many of the popular event planners, so the fact that my little store was able to muster up a sim full of people means that there's still interest in something beyond fashion and shopping in SL, and if we create environments created for funzies, good things will happen.

So, with that explanation out of the way, let's get started with the real point of this blog, which is to tell some stories!

ONTO THE STORIES!
In preparation for my birthday, Nana cleaned up the living room and went grocery shopping. While she was gone, I made myself comfortable on the newly shampoo'd couch and watched cartoons. When Nana came back later, she wasn't pleased.
